Alternative sleeve design of the album ‘The Hurting’ by Tears For Fears.
‘The Hurting’, Tears For Fears first studio album, is a concept album based on the writings of psychologist Arthur Janov, the developer of primal scream therapy. The “primal therapy”, is a treatment that encouraged the patient to explore his childhood traumas, experiencing them for a second time and then expressing the repressed pain.
The idea behind the cover restyling is to represent something that can hurt a child but not an adult. The classical statue can represent the perfect human being who can still be hurt by a children’s game like the ‘got your nose’ one.

Book cover design of ‘Norwegian Wood’ by Haruki Murakami for the 2019 Penguin Adult Fiction Cover Contest.
Toru is walking in the meadow following Naoko who seems to disappear behind the grass, this represents the fading memories of Toru. The colours come from the first edition of the book. The use of these two colours was not coincidental, red represents death and green life. Lastly, with the typography, I wanted to give to the cover a 60s vintage vibe.

Book design based on my BA thesis on illustrated movie posters. The layout as well as the cover artwork was designed by me.
The purpose of my thesis was to bring back the illustrated movie poster as a winning way to advertise a movie. The book starts with a historical analysis of the illustrated movie poster to then understand why it has disappeared in the 90s. The last part of the book is focused on contemporary collector’s movie posters made popular by Mondo.
(sorry, Italian only!)
